Dear Chinese Studies Students:
As you may know, The University of Virginia’s Semester at Sea program
takes hundreds of students a year around the world on a “floating
campus,” with classes in session while the ship sails between ports and
port stops of five days or so in countries ranging from Ghana and South
Africa to Vietnam and China. This Spring, we will operate a special
program, the CY Tung Program in Sino-U.S. Relations, which invites
scholarship students from China and the United States to participate
together in a special course as the ship visits China and other ports.
We will award a minimum of two $20,000 scholarships to students who are
attending U.S. universities and agree to participate in this program
from January 19 to May 2, 2012.
